Crochet Yourself Up A SICK Scarf!

Barf Scarf
You Will Need

  • 3mm & 5.5mm Crochet Hooks

  • Double Knit (Catagory 3 - Light) Yarn in Pink (or Red), Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and White

  • Eyes - Either 10mm Safety Eyes or Button Eyes

      • 11mm Plain Black Buttons x 2
      18mm Plain White Buttons x 2
      25mm Black Coat/Clown Buttons x 2

  • Scissors

  • Stitch Markers

  • Yarn Needle

  • Sewing Needle and Black Thread (for Button Eyes)

    • Abbreviations

  • Ch - Chain Stitch

  • Sc - Single Crochet

  • HDc - Half Double Crochet

  • HDc 3rd Loop - HDc into the 3rd loop only

  • Dc - Double Crochet

  • Inc - Sc Increase (2 Sc into 1 St)

  • SlSt - Slip Stitch

  • St/Sts - Stitch/Stitches

  • *-* - Marks a group of stitches to be repeated

    • Gauge and Finished Size

    No Gauge - just keep your stitches tight to avoid gaps in your work

    Finished Size - approx. 180cm/70 inches long when following recommended pattern length and yarn weight

    Yarn Recommendations

    I used a variety of 100% acrylic Double Knit yarns for my Barf Scarf

    Some of the brands I used in this project are

      Woolcraft New Fashion - Hayfield Bonus DK - Hayfield Bonus DK - Yarnsmiths Create DK

    Any brand and/or fibre of Double Knit yarn will work up well

    Yardage

    All measurements are approximate, for a finished scarf made with Weight 3 Yarn, 3mm and 5.5mm Crochet Hooks

      Each Colour - Including white - 16g - 48m - 53yds

    **Please ensure you have more than enough yarn to complete your project

    • Sc in 2nd Ch from hook, and each of the 15 Ch's back to the beginning Ch. In the beginning Ch, Sc 3. On the opposite side of the Ch - Sc 15 back to the first St of the Round. Sc 2 into the Starting Ch of the Round (36 Sc)

    • *Continue in the Round* Inc in first St. Ch 15 (try and keep your Ch's a bit loose), Skip 15 Sc. Inc into next 3 Sc's to turn the corner. Sc 15. Inc in the last 2 Sts (42 Sc)
